Rosemary Gitonga has been engaged in Christian ministry for much of her life, beginning with involvement as a young person in various groups like Youth for Christ and the Navigators. Prior to pursuing further education in the US she served with Emerging Young Leaders-Africa, a leadership training and mentoring ministry. In preparation for further ministry, Rosemary came to the US in 2001 and completed a Master of Arts in Leadership and Theology at Denver Seminary and also Masters’ degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Colorado Christian University before returning to her native Kenya in 2010. While in the US she also served as Mission Coach by recruiting potential missionaries for various ministry opportunities around the world with WorldVenture, a missions’ agency formerly known as Conservative Baptist (CB) International.
Her mission is to serve and develop others by leading, training managing, mentoring, discipling and motivating others to pursue and reach their God-given potential so as to make a difference in society and our world today.
She states, “There is nowhere else I would rather be than in him and He in my life and to be in His will. Even when I do not know what tomorrow looks like, I know who holds my tomorrow and my desire is to worship, to serve and live for my Lord and King. I continually focus on the Scripture in Philippians 3:12-14, ‘Not that I have already obtained this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me… I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.’”
- That God would sustain the health of her aging parents
- That Rosemary would be able to reestablish relationships with those who have been engaged with her in ministry in the past
- That her role in leadership development, training, discipleship and mentoring would impact young men and women in all her spheres of influence
