Poulson Sisters Family: Lynae, Katelyn, and Alyssa

Poulson Sisters FamilyLynae, Katelyn, and Alyssa Poulson are sisters serving in the Amazon Basin of Brazil with their four children. They grew up in Brazil as missionary kids: their family ministered as church planters to an unreached people group. After graduating high school, they each went to the USA where they completed associate degrees in Biblical Studies and varying levels of college in the medical field: Lynae has a masters in Nurse Midwifery, Katelyn holds a bachelors’ degree in Nursing, and Alyssa trained to be an EMT/Paramedic. Following in the footsteps of Christ, they seek to honor Him with lives of humble service, sharing the gospel and His endless kindness with those who do not yet know Him. While in the US, the sisters worked with refugees, immigrants, and people living in the inner city. They were foster parents during their college years and built close relationships with those families, coming alongside them to serve in a challenging time of distress.

Once they graduated from college, the Poulson sisters returned to Brazil to serve at a mission school on the banks of the Amazon River. This is a supporting role that offers missionaries working in isolated villages a place to send their children for a quality education. Previously, many families had to leave their areas of service once their kids reached school-age, because homeschooling was illegal until 2023 or because there were no good schools near their remote locations.

The Poulson sisters serve in various capacities at the mission school: they provide medical care to the students, staff, and neighboring river people; run the cafeteria & serve three meals a day to around 60 people; teach various classes; and, are involved in discipleship and mentoring of the students. There are more than 340 indigenous people groups in Brazil and over 150 of them are still unreached. The Poulson family is a small part of a team that is working to share the gospel, teach literacy, meet physical needs, translate the Bible, and plant churches with the goal of every people group having a healthy, functioning body of believers within it. We are very grateful to everyone who partners with us and is also a part of that team through encouragement, prayer, or financial support. Thank you!
