Simon & Joy Cherian

Simon grew up in a missionary home in India, with his grandparents and parents involved in church planting. Hailing from the Temple City, Simon grew up seeing the vast need for the gospel in his country. He committed his life to serve the Lord during his college days. After completing his Masters in Social Work, he served in a college students ministry for four years following which he pursued his Masters in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. While in seminary, he married Joy from his home country who was already serving in college student ministry. Joy worked as a software engineer after completing a Bachelors in Engineering. Obeying God’s call for missions, Joy left her job to serve among college students. While at Dallas Seminary, Joy was able to complete a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership.

On graduating from DTS in 2017, Simon and Joy moved back to South India to serve in a Bible School and church planting ministry at Madurai. They are actively involved in teaching the Bible to Bible college students, young couples and youth.

Simon and Joy strongly believe that transformation happens through the teaching and study of God’s Word and are committed to that cause. They love spending time with individuals and small groups, sharing and doing life with them.

In 2018 Simon helped initiate a new correspondence Bible school for lay people and currently serves as the Academic Coordinator (eabs.in). Joy enjoys serving alongside Simon, using her gifts in administration and teaching and training youth and women.

Simon and Joy are blessed with a baby boy, Judah.
